He was never in danger of being cut. He had foot surgery sometime in the offseason that hindered him for awhile. I wouldn't be shocked if he starts next year.

Eric Reid – Stud, 2014 Pro Bowl, Concussions may end his career early, however.
Margus Hunt – Dud, still plays for the Bengals, but hasn’t done anything great to date
Giovani Bernard – Meh, 3500 yards from scrimmage in his first three seasons, but is ceding some work to Jeremy Hill.
Dallas Thomas – Dud, starts on the Dolphins O-Line, but is pretty atrocious
Robert Alford – Meh, Falcon’s starter at CB, nothing to write home about
