Well, I for one am somewhat mixed in my emotions about the loss. It's always better to win, obviously, but I've always liked to have one meaningless loss right before the tournament. I have absolutely no evidence to back this up, but I've always felt like it re-focused the team right before the tourney.
Add to it that we were missing Embiid, coming off senior night, and finally saw the Andrew Wiggins that the less-educated public and pundits (the ones who only judge a player based on what he does with the ball in his hands) have been jabbering about not seeing, and frankly I think there was a lot of positive to take away. I do hate Bob Huggins fat ham face, but I'd rather drop one on the road to a team I don't really care about than to a fanbase that will begin to start puffing their chests like they actually proved something (see: Rusty). Tough loss, but I really loved watching Wiggins take over and how the team - especially traylor - responded. If we had won that game, I'd have said without reservation that was the single greatest performance by a Jayhawk I've ever seen. On the flip side, right after I went to the mattresses defending Perry Ellis, he decides to just shit all over my shoes. Just a horrible, weak, soft, game from a player who can and should do much better. |
