I've been on a Sci-Fi kick lately.

I'd seen a few episodes of this show here and there, but I finally got around to watching it from the beginning. It's really very cool.

The only Sci-Fi series I really loved, was Firefly... and I saw that (too) after it was canceled. I've tried to be a fan of Star Trek : TNG, but I find it pretty dull at times.

I like the dose of humor Farscape adds. And I'm excited that I've got four full seasons to enjoy. I get the feeling that I'll miss it like I miss Firefly...

As usual, I'm way late to the party.

B5 looked awesome at the time, but my kindle probably has more power than the computers that animated that show 20 years ago. It's really hard to watch now, after all the advances in CG. It's been probably 4 years now, but I did somewhat recently watch Farscape beginning to end and I enjoyed it every bit as much as I did the first time. While there are some episodes that make me cringe with their bizarre silliness they really did some fantastic things on that series.

Yeah. Babylon 5 almost needs to go through a re-imagined facelift series similar to the Battlestar Galactica treatment. I know the series prided itself on its fantastic storyline, and it WAS around for a significant period of time. It's not like the new series can just base itself on that universe in characters, setting, and basic plot and then go from there like was done with BSG. But... damn. A lot of these old sci fi shows can still attract themselves to new fans who have never seen them before, but when you look and act like Babylon 5, it's a pretty hard hurdle to climb.

The time may come in about 15-20 years when the show is down to just the core base that adored it when it was on the air before they can re-launch it. Because that could be really good if they did that.

There's actually been talking that there's been some discussion about updating B5 the way they've been with TNG.

Personally, I'd rather have Deep Space Nine on Blu-ray, but I'd be good either way.
