Why do you have an affinity for (and bias on behalf of) Utah players? |

So does Zane Beadles. As well as Eric Weddle. Alex Smith is pretty good. Dennis Pitta is solid. And I could go on... However, the reason is is that BYU, Utah and Utah State, while under Bronco Mendenhall, Kyle Wittingham and Gary Anderson (now at Wisconsin) respectively, have put a lot of solid players into the pros over the past several years. They've recruited players that translate well to the next level as well as providing solid coaching in pro style offenses/defenses to said players. In addition, I live here, so I see and hear about these players a lot. (There isn't much in the way of professional sports here in the Rocky Mountain region and they all end up playing each other a lot - Boise State, Wyoming, Montana, the Utah Schools, etc., and get talked about a lot, especially with regard to football.) There is a lot of talent in this region with those schools that seems to get overlooked by people and the media outside the region. As well, Utah high school football is somewhat of a hot bed and sends a lot of kids to various universities. Haloti Ngata, Xavier S'ua-Filo, etc. You could put together a pretty solid NFL team with players from this region that are currently in the pros. That's why. Also, I think Nevin Lawson is a pretty good CB. He's going to make a pretty solid nickel back on the cheap in this next draft. Last edited by Saccopoo; 04-28-2014 at 02:11 PM.. |

Let me think here... Dennard Gilbert Verrett Fuller Roby Desir McGill Joyner Gaines Jean-Baptise Lawson I would gladly take any of these guys and it's guaranteed that a few of these guys will be there at 87. Personally, I think they like Desir, Gaines and McGill are their top choices in round 3. They fit our system so well.

I would say that about Verrett without a shred of doubt. Strong tackler, especially for his size, and could stick even the quickest WRs like glue. He was by far the quickest at closing on the ball that I saw.
