Not sure anyone knows though. Nothing on ESPN's homepage..hell, 610 radio did not even carry the game live---instead they played other sound clips from Jayhawk games and talked about the Royals.

This event is important, right?

If a tree falls in the forest.....

This "gold" medal is important to a singular fanbase, and likely only the diehard portion of that fanbase on top of that.

I would guess more than 50% of KU fans don't even know these games went on.

And it registers absolutely nowhere on the national sports landscape. Not only is it not on ESPN homepage, it isn't even mentioned on the college basketball page either.

It is really impressive. They beat a better team in 2OT for one reason: they pounded Germany on the boards 59-45 (23-9 offensive). They busted their ass to win - and made even Cochise a proud American this A.M.

It was broadcast live on ESPNU and is plastered across their website.

Not understanding the issue. Obviously I get the jealousy but if the Olympics aren't played every year then it makes sense that the international competition held at that time determines the world champion.

Kansas is that Champion.

Any word on the banner design?

You're bad at this.
The game ended at about 8:15 CST this morning. ESPN didn't even have a story up about it until almost lunchtime.

And it still isn't "plastered" across anything. More lies and exaggeration from you. It is just now, 3 hours after conclusion, the 6th story on ESPN's homepage. And still not even the front cover of the NCAAM page.

Is it cool for your fanbase? Sure.

But as I said, maybe 50% of KU fans even know this happened today. For the rest of the nation and sports fans in general, nobody has a freaking clue.
