Moss has no business on a major league roster, let alone starting over a guy that can legitimately provide you with elite CF defense. One premier tool at a premier defensive position is a hell of a lot more valuable than...well the absolutely nothing that Moss gives us.

Moss is a complete piece of shit. When Heston gassed him at 88 mph the letters, I realized that the 'slider speed bat' tag I put on him when we traded for him was probably being polite. The guy simply can't get around on anything and can't put a charge into anything.

But please Dan (and BRC), tell us all more about those warning track fly balls he's hitting.

I honestly don't believe anyone put eyes on Brandon Moss before they traded for him. I think they got their 'exit velocity' data that showed an 'unlucky' BABIP and they made a pure SABRE driven trade for an injured and ineffective ballplayer.

What's made the Cardinals such a good organization of late was that they did a great job combining scouting and stats. There's no way on this earth that any experienced scout watched Brandon Moss play at all over the month leading up to the trade deadline and decided he was worth acquiring.

The Moss trade is simply an organizational failure. When Chase Utley slips through waivers unclaimed, the fact that you traded your 2nd best pitching prospect for Brandon Moss is all the more astonishing.
