NFL.com Now Has Chiefs Ranked #6 Overall...Says SB Is Possible

NFL.com just came out with their new post preseason rankings and has the Chiefs as #6 overall and the favorite to win the AFC West over Denver who they now have ranked #13. Ike Taylor says "the cement has finally settled in Andy Reid's new house in KC" and that the roster is deep top to bottom.

3 Best AFC Teams (according to Demeshek and Taylor) are...

1. Colts (#3 in NFL)
2. Pittsburgh (#5 in NFL)
3. Chiefs (#6 in NFL)

(Patriots were #12 in NFL and #6 in AFC)
(Broncos were #13 in NFL and #7 in AFC)

thoughts?

Shit even making the playoffs isn't good enough for guys like me. I want to ****ing win playoff GAMES, not just make the playoffs or some noise.

And that's completely understandable. And I agree. This season without beating the at least once and not winning a playoff game would be a failure to me.

I guess I'm not understanding the panic. The Chiefs played a tough schedule last year and the talent is miles better this year. In games 2-5, the Chiefs played Denver-NE-Miami-SF and ended up splitting in half.

Cincy and Houston aren't going to be easy, but I can't believe how many are treating them like they're anything more than bubble playoff teams. Dalton is looking like a disaster and Houston has shitty QBs/no Arian Foster. Those 2 are absolutely winnable games and like last year against NE, perfectly capable of stealing 1 of those games against Den and GB.

Actually, I'd take a good ass kicking of the Broncos and Manning and consider it a successful season. Im not setting my bar terribly high.
I was at the Indy meltdown..still holding on for a playoff win.

If KC can defend Houston's DL and make some offensive plays, that's going to be the difference. With Watt, Clowney and Wilfork on that DL, it's going to be a serious test in week one, unless of course the defense scores 14+ points. But I dont want KC to be one of those teams where the defense has to defend and score as well.

oof...that's tough being there. When I try to rank all the shitty ways KC has lost playoff games, that one had to be the worst by far.

even going 2-2 during that stretch would be positive, in my eyes

3 road games....

If we go 2-2 , it would very well mean we start 1-2....(beat HOU and lose to DEN and GB)

Im sure if that happens there will be a lot of people leaving the ship, only to return a week later if we beat cincy....

Unless the ship sinks

Is 0-4 technically worst case scenario? Of course.

But anybody that believes that is a possibility is the anti-homer.

We all know how Reid works.

We will get embarrassed at Houston, barely lose to Denver, and end up fisting Green Bay and the Red Water Pistol.

He is the Constanza of coaches. He does the opposite of what should happen.

That video quality sucked. The theme was awful. But I love that optimism and love!

On the opposite side, the Texans are a mess in the interior and they have a left tackle who won't be 100% after missing the whole preseason. The Chiefs' front 7 is going to be a handful for a guy like Hoyer who was absolutely terrible against pressure.

Only thing I'm worried about is the Chiefs coming out flat like they did against Tennessee. The Chiefs have an excellent defense, running game, and solid enough QB play and went 9-7 last year beating 6 winning teams. The Texans have an excellent defense, average running game, and spotty QB play for a team that went 9-7 last year against 2 winning teams. Net/net, the Chiefs improved a ridiculous amount from last year while Texans are about even (without Arian Foster).

It won't be an easy game but I don't see why the Chiefs can't win this if they play their game.
