What is you favorite thing about ChiefsPlanet? What keeps you coming back?

While I'm waiting for the wildcard polls to close in the Hottest Celebrity Contest, I figured I'd take the time to pose a question to you guys.

I began lurking CP around 2011, I believe. Since then, I've come to love the place. It's certainly the website I visit the most often. So, I've asked myself, why is that? What is it about this place that draws me in so much?

I think one of the major reasons is that the board has helped me cope with being a fan of what, at times, seems to be a cursed franchise. The playoff loss in 2013 was rough on me. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I'm one of those guys that tied a bit of my self worth to the Chiefs. I used to get so wrapped up in being a fan, that when they were being embarrassed, I was certain that people were looking down on me for being a fan. When they lost that playoff game in 2013, I couldn't talk to anybody outside of this website about it for months. However, that night on CP, other posters, who were sharing the same misery as me, were laughing and making jokes about the game. I found myself laughing at the posts, and it helped to get over it. Through you guys, I've gotten a lot better about letting things like that playoff loss go, and not getting so wound up about the Chiefs.

That's one of the many reasons I love CP, but it's not the main reason. I think the main reason I love this place is the personalities. CP has not shortage of them, and the way they interact with each other is extremely entertaining. Whether it's a Baby Lee/Dane McCloud feud over copyright law, or a cosmo/srvy feud about the mating habits of Africanized honey bees, they're all a spectacle. I find myself having to check every thread, regardless of topic, just to see what it has become.

So, what is it for you? Why do you keep coming back to this awful place? It certainly can't be the Chiefs.

Pretty much all of the above. Y'all are good people. Well, some of you at least. Most of you have made me laugh though, so I'll keep coming back.

Been lurking since 2011 as well, but wish I could've joined a lot sooner.

The pictures section is dope as well.

Your very first sentence. I forgot to mention that. It seems as though when any topic is brought up on CP, there always seems to be at least a couple of guys that specialize in that area. That's pretty cool.

Name-calling? Dane wouldn't know anything about that, hes certainly above that behavior.

What brings me to CP is a loose sense of solidarity of those who share Kansas City culture

But last years Royals season was the best for me here. Watched every game, participated in every GDT and with basically the same core people each time. It was very special, as corny as that sounds. So much so that I was a little sad that Hootie didn't get to finish out the season. Sharing the season with those guys was cool.

I like how awful we can be to each other, then rally behind any member in need of some kind words and support.

I don't pretend to offer much in Chiefs analysis but I love the interaction and just hanging with dudes sometimes. Playing some grab-ass. I like to make little dumb jokes along the way, sometimes misunderstood (Rep system helps with this). And I've made, what I believe to be, some friends here. Some of whom I would risk meeting IRL.

I like that there are cool women here too, even Livesteam. Don't like the poop threads and **** those guys who didn't vote for Anna. They are bundle of stickss. NNTAWWT!

DC fascinates me.

Oh, and I've learned a ton.
That Royals season made for great reading around here. I enjoyed watching you guys watch your team win it all. I even sat in on a number of the playoff GDTs.

I can only hope I get to have that experience with the Chiefs eventually.

Hilarious personalities, amazing generosity of entire groups of people that have never met each other. Entire undercurrents of sideplots throughout thr board because a lot of members have met and are friends. Love hearing the people who tell it like it is about any random subject. Support for people going through tough times. Husband and wife combo posting homes...

Add in the hall of classics and some football talk and this board just has such an amazing feel of something that has a life of it's own. We all open threads dying to know where they end.

Good overall commraderie(is that the correct spelling?), keeps me connected to KC from a few thousand miles away, mostly good people, great entertainment. Oh and the 4 or 5 guys I've met from CP are all good dudes I would hang with anytime. That's a 100% success rate. My family doesn't even score that high.

Came for the football. Which was head and shoulders above anything ever back in the day.

Stayed for the people. Every single one of the people I've met in this site has been top notch. I mean top ****ing notch. That includes Dave Lane (I'm as conservative as a mother****er will ever be), the resident get off my lawn cranky guy, Bugeater, and Reerun who everybody loves to hate. Sure trolls suck but there are some damn fine folk here.

It's pretty remarkable, really. In any given day, of the people I interact with each day, I'd say probably 80-90% I couldn't care less about and that guarantees some time with my wife and daughter and usually at least my dad. Logon and it's probably the inverse. I'm pretty good at skimming through the BS and there is always a take I care about or somebody doing something I can learn from. I wish there were an ignore function and the capacity to choose with whom I interact with in real life.

Other boards aren't this way either. I am on ag talk. It's a clunky ass ag BB but there are some sharp pencils in there. Anyway I post a thread about a risk mitigation technique I'm trying to employ thinking someone else had done the same thing. Those dumb mother****ers proceeded to bash me and call me names for even trying to take measures to protect some assets. God forbid we try to run out farm like a business. Pretty soon a couple guys actually contribute to the discussion and it calms down some but I put out a perfectly reasonable situations and morons that don't know anything about ****ing anything call me a dumbass.

Compare that with here. I reached out to a couple guys that I know do business and ran it by them. While they didn't know about production ag they shared their experiences in their businesses no questions asked.

It's the good people here that make it what it is. **** trolls. This is our community.

Oh also, it's hard to find other men elsewhere who have only been with super models and have foot long dicks, so it's nice to find a place online where we can all relate to each other.
