Take it from someone who has been a professional musician longer than you've been alive, the people that have to brag about how good they or their band are usually aren't. If you are good you don't need to brag.

"bragging"??

It ain't bragging when you back it up.

I stated facts. And LoneWolf knows it. He was just trying to get my goat by slamming my band.

That says a lot about him, as a person.

No, I'm embarrassed when I open my closet and I see all these ****ing red and gold jerseys. My ****ing Donnie Edwards jersey...my Derrick Alexander jersey...my ELVIS GRBAC jersey...or, perhaps worst of all, my Tamarick Vanover jersey.

That's what I'm embarrassed about. The fact that I've given so much to The Hunts and the Kansas City Chiefs, and they are the Barry ****ing Horowitz of the NFL. And all I have to show for it are a bunch of jerseys.

So I throw one on, and a pair red and gold Reeboks, and look like the world's highest paid seventh grader.

THAT is what's embarrassing.

I'm just telling you from 40 years of experience. I know many of the best, most talented musicians in Hawaii. The one thing they have in common is they are humble. They will never tell you how good they are, they let the music do that. And the young, brash guys that talk about how good they are never stick around long. By the time they are 30 they are done playing because they are playing for the wrong reasons. Be humble. Just some advice from someone that has been there.

I don't see how anyone could watch this season play out and not think the sport is shady as ****. Between the open for interpretation rules and a shit Denver team winning a title with their starting QB not giving a **** about winning, but instead mumbling about Budweiser with a meh look on his face. It's a damn joke.

And I absolutely am humble about it. And I play music because I LOVE IT.

I put up with too much bullshit to be doing it for anything but the love...

But if LoneWolf wants to slam me and call me a 'second rate musician' and that my band is 'shitty'...well, he just wanted to get personal. He may not like rock and roll, he may be into dance pop and Meghan Traynor, but him going low and personal like that...

Well, I didn't say anything that wasn't true. That's not 'bragging' - if we suck like LoneWolf claims, then we wouldn't be in movies, we wouldn't have soundtrack placements, we wouldn't be talking to a label, and we damn sure wouldn't be turning down more gigs than we accept.

Those are just the facts.

Most that I've met really are.

If it seems otherwise, sometimes insecurities can seem like being 'cocky' or aloof...

But one on one, most successful musicians are successful because they're cool and talented.

It's a great combination to have.

I mean, I don't do anything that hundreds or thousands of other people aren't doing. I'm not THAT special.

But I definitely don't "suck". And me pointing that out isn't me being 'cocky' or a braggart. It's just...the way it is. (Cue Bruce Hornsby)

then you're not humble, you're a fake.

You can't say I'm an honest person because I only lie at work.

You said earlier, "if you can back it up it isn't bragging". I say, if you can back it up you don't need to brag because everyone will already know you are good.

The hilarious thing is I haven't met one person that took the Broncos win seriously.
