Dunno if you're referring to me, but I know shit-all about horror movies.

Wasn't raised with them, never got into them. Don't hate them, not scared of them. It just isn't a genre I'm invested in. If I had to point to a formative memory, in HS we watched part of one of the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels, in the middle of the day, on a road trip, in a hotel room, filled with about 10 people, throwing popcorn and crap at the TV and laughing if they were paying any attention at all. So for me, most schlock horror is something to be laughed at, and really effective horror is rare.

I catch one, maybe two a year, and only when the word of mouth is nearing a consensus of brilliance.

In the past two years, I think I've seen The Babadook and The Witch and that's about it. And I'm sure neither are a big surprise for anyone interested in the genre.

Cabin In The Woods is a great horror flick. I watched it recently for the first time. Great, great movie.

Yeah, I caught that back when it came out. But that was because I'm a Whedon fan, not because it was a horror movie.
