Mahomes expected to go in top 10

Patrick Mahomes - QB - Player

The Post-Standard reports Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes is expected to go in the top 10.
Per reporter Matthew Fairburn, the Chiefs are "known to love" Mahomes, and are considering a trade up. The top 10 isn't lacking for quarterback-needy teams, including the team Fairburn covers, the Bills, at No. 10. Although this is considered a relatively poor quarterback class, teams appear prepared to go as crazy as usual pursuing football's most important position.

Right.

It is what it is.

They would have to willingly tank their entire 2017 season to make that happen, and you KNOW Lil' Chiefy ain't havin' none of that.

So, you need to get on board. You can't bitch about never taking a QB high for 10 straight years and then proceed to piss all over it when it looks as if there may be a possibility of that scenario unfolding.

If you are using reverse-mojo, kindly disregard this post.

I'm fine with any of the top 5 QBs from 2018, though.

I guess that's that.

The Chiefs cannot give up what it will take to move into the top 10 and the cost/benefit doesn't work out as well anymore either since the 5th year option on a quarterback taken in the top 10 QB would be the rough equivalent of a franchise tag for him.

So you're getting 4 years under cost, 1 of which is on the bench. And for that privilege you're probably giving up your 1st and second this year and next.

Mahomes has been my top target since this process started but I just cannot see giving up the bullets needed to make that happen.

Take it out of everyone else's hands and go get the guy that you want. We have 10 picks and a roster with minimal holes. We can afford to trade up if we want to, top 10 or wherever.

Don't count on it. Everyone pretty well knew that Smth's days as a pro QB were counting down.

KC took the big swing last night, and though I didn't like this particuar slice, Pat Mahomes II has my full support going forward.

It's time for everyone to acknowledge that team success comes before choice of how they try to achieve it. That feeling of being right has its own small measure of satisfaction, but it pales in comparison to SuperBowl glory. If Mahomes can get them there, then to hell with being right or wrong.

He will have a year to sit and absorb... then by all means.. best of luck. It should be far more exciting to see... win or lose.

Alex "Samsonite" Smith can afford first class thanks to Clark's deep pockets.

Happy trails, pat'na!
