It's weird to me after all they've accomplished to take some meaningless game in the middle of June or July and talk about how much they suck or how the season is over. I'd say some of it's joking but I can tell many of them are serious.
I thought for a little while it might be stupid reverse mojo, but then people were actually saying shit like "I'm done" in both playoff runs. And it could be a defensive mechanism as mr. tegu says, but only to an extent... even if you're a little too pumped up for a baseball game in the middle of July, only so much negativity prepares you for a loss... it's one thing to have low expectations and vent, but being negative for 8 innings is not better than being angry at the end.

It's like when I lived in KC, I swear traffic was worse when it was cloudy and it hadn't even started raining.... people don't even wait for the rain to ruin their day around here, and the perfect example was in the bottom of the 10th.

Ultimately, I think everyone enjoys their sports differently. Some just like to sit back and chill and watch. Some are more pessimistic, some are more optimistic. For me, the emotional rollercoaster is part of what makes it fun. If the JAG we have(hopefully not anymore)as a 5th starter is getting fisted, it's fun to post random shit on here and read other people's random shit. If(when?)the Royals comeback, it's all part of the excitement. As for "real" stress or anything like that, mine registers at 0.00. The minute the game ends, any emotion of it is done(except playoff wins, those get to sit longer). I may hang around here and talk trash with you guys, but my head is back to things that actually carry significant weight in my life. I don't take any of it or any of our banter here very seriously. To me, it's all in good fun. Except anything bricks says. **** bricks. Anyway, I enjoy all
Of the posting styles of all the regulars. And you'll never see me get pissy if some one wants to tell me to during a GT. It's all part
of the deal.

Dodgers have some kind of magic. Bellinger with a 3 run homer in the 8th to take the lead over MIN.

Did Bartolo the Hutt stave off retirement? Going into this start he had said if he bombed tonight, he was done. 3 earned over 5. That's not exactly terrible in LA. I'm thinking he keeps plugging along.

Stupid pitching by Rogers. Got away with a slider the pitch before, and threw the same pitch and Bellinger was all over it.

That being said, Dodgers will still choke in the playoffs.

They traded for Jaime Garcia today. Someone will have to go... don't know if it'll be Bartolo.
