Jones/Houston/ rookie and the combo of Speaks/Kpass maybe? Isnt awful. What you lose with Ford you could gain by grabbing a couple of corners in the draft to pair with Fuller sign another Vet CB to a 1 year deal.

Were kinda stuck with Berry, Watts, Lucas and MAYBE Thomas? Who knows what a guy like that will command given his injuries but I dont think its a stretch to say theres probably mutual interest considering that trade almost went down?

Secondary as follows: Rookie CB, Rookie CB, Fuller, Vet maybe? Ward, and Smith. Berry, Thomas?, Watts, Lucas.

That's a pretty damn good secondary no?
I bet they end up trading a pick for a current corner

Peterson maybe

Dont you think it would take multiple picks? Veach is pretty aggressive so it makes some sense but I think we overlook how much were gonna have to pay for guys like Jones and Hill they will probably get 100 mil contracts or pretty close. I bet a team is going to give Conley something similar to what Wilson got. Dont think we can afford to keep Conley unfortunately. Maybe that's why Benjamin was brought in but he really doesnt seem like a fit. I'd like to draft a guard at some point in this draft as a fallback in case Erving comes back to earth and LDT who I love just cant stay healthy. I almost wouldnt mind at some point drafting a swing tackle whom at some point could replace Schwartz in a few years, an interior lineman to replace Bailey and another to add to the rotation, another coverage backer, and another RB.

I realize that's alot I dont expect to find that all in 1 draft but we certainly have the number of picks to fill alot of that.

They’ll for sure let Conley walk. Draft another 3rd or 4th round wr or let andy develop someone.

They for sure need some more playmakers In the defensive backfield.

I don’t think they’ll move on from Houston. They may have to but he’s still damn good

I don't really give a shit how it's done, but Veach better make getting another CB his #1 priority this offseason. I appreciate the fact that he got Kendall Fuller in the trade for Smith and coveted Kyle Fuller since he seems like the only free agent CB worth his contract, but he was an RFA and we didn't have a realistic shot at him. Use those talent evaluating skills in the draft, stop drafting fat DLinemen to be OLBs, and we just might get somewhere with this defense.

The corners this year haven’t been great but it’s the damn safeties and ILB that have killed them

Only reason I'm not TOO concerned about the safeties is we have guys like Lucas and Watts in our back pocket. There is at least something there to build upon. After this season it's basically Fuller and a bunch of scrubs besides possibly Ward at CB.

Ward will be....solid. If you can find a legit #2 to pair with Fuller and keep Ward as your #3 I think you're in great shape.

I like what I see in the kid and think he can be a valuable piece.

Tempering my expectations until he does good against a team that isn't the Raiders, but he seems to stick to his man like glue and actually turns his ****ing head for the ball every once in a while.

He got victimized by Wilson twice against the Hawks when he was in GREAT position and did everything he could.

He mirrors guys well, isn't undersized and will hit guys. A little improvement in technique could see him developing into an adequate starter.

I won't expect that of him but as a 3rd corner I think he'll be a legitimate asset.

I like Fuller more in the slot He was great in Washington love how athletic he is. Add a true #1 that's a hell of a secondary.

That's what we do, though... Ward is supposed to come in and take over for Fuller when we go into nickel defense so Fuller can play in the slot.
