To be fair, I was surprised he didn't have to sit out a play or that the Chiefs were not charged a timeout. But maybe because they noticed the problem like 2 plays late?

People on Reddit were bitching about the two RTP calls (which were both valid, imo) and saying the NFL coddles Mahomes. I can't even remember the last time he got that call. It couldn't have been more than once or twice all season.

I would like one of NFL shows to breakdown exactly how much the helmet was compromised.

Did that crack put Mahomes at a higher risk for a head injury, or was it just cosmetic.

Obviously, it looked like if Mahomes had to be tackled again, someone could have possibly been cut on his helmet, because those edges looked sharp, but other than that, I am not familiar enough with the structural makeup of a helmet, to guage the amount of added risk involved for Mahomes.
