Really hope this kid can contribute from week 1. I don’t want him to go through the Andy Reid standard 12 weeks to learn shit

I think it was Nut who mentioned Chiefs prioritize speed, power, and route running now for WR's.

Where's our one friend? The guy who said route running for WR's is overrated.

Glad the Chiefs scout said that and are now drafting better WR's because they take this into account more.

He also mentioned Royals as a prospect is ahead of Rice on route running if you compare to when Rice entered the NFL.

It was not.

I actually kinda thought it was a funny comment when someone else offered it.

"Oh, you prioritize 3 of the 4 things that matter? With the 4th being 'hands' and NOBODY just takes that off the board..."

I read the statement and thought it was a big ol' nothingburger. I mean, what the hell else is there to look at with WRs? I guess height. So he tells us the Chiefs don't prioritize height.

Well no shit. I can read a roster. Y'all haven't prioritized height...ever.

We didn't value route running as much in prior years:

See Mecole Hardman over Terry McLaurin

You do realize who he is playing behind on the depth chart right? He’s the #4 at best.

And that’s not a knock on him. That’s a testament to the depth this WR group has if they stay healthy.

This. Rice and Hollywood are W1 and W2. Worthy is the gadget Z. And Kelce and Gray are the TE1 and TE2.

Unless there is injury he won't see the field much this season.

I think Worthy is more than a "gadget Z". He got some good playing time last year and should be in a better position this year to succeed IMO.

Only a complete ****ing reerun thinks:

1. Worthy is a "gadget" WR

2. Worthy is behind Brown in the pecking order

Brown has the more complete route tree and better hands and understanding of zone coverage. And he cam play outside too.

Brown would be the X receiver and WR1 on a handful of actual NFL teams.

Uhhh, no.

This is dumb.

Brown is NOT an X.

He's not, but he can actually play the X or slot. He's not just a gadget Z receiver.

This is a guy who went for 1000 yards playing primarily outside on the Ravens.

I'd be utterly shocked if Royals beats out Brown for a starting role this year. Brown would be the number 1 on some ACTUAL NFL TEAMS. Not just Utah State.

So you actually watched the last several weeks of the season/playoffs and came to the conclusion that Hollywood > Worthy?

Again, only a reerun could have possibly come away with this.

Rice and Worthy are 1A and 1B. Hollywood is firmly in the WR3 spot, regardless of where he lines up on the field or the routes that he runs.

This is an Andy Reid offense. All of that other stuff is irrelevant. It's about who's going to be getting the targets, and that's very obviously Worthy over Brown.

7 Men have to line up on the of scrimmage. It's not a choice. It's a rule. You cannot be a WR1 in this league if you require motion to get open.
