He even pats it when he throws on the run. He literally cannot throw it without patting it.

I don't like Shaduer Sanders at all, and while I was not upset that he slid in the draft, ultimately I didn't care.

Well, I didn't care until thousands of people suddenly became draft experts, claiming that the NFL was colluding to keep a rich black man down because reasons. Now, I want him to fail badly, because I am going to hammer thoss people. It's like me watching the annual dog show and complaining how Scooby not winning every year is to punish him for being a celebrity. Or, how Frank, the retired garbage man down the street suddenly became an epidemiologist and pharmacist overnight during covid.

Not arguing with you, but I mean, do we really think that he'll be that much worse than Deshaun Watson or Jameis Winston whenever he finally gets to take a snap in an actual game? Let's not forget that not only will he be running one of the more QB-friendly offenses in the league, with one of the better OLs and a decent group of weapons, but he'll also have the cushion of a top-10 defense.

And again, not saying he'll be great by any means, but it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to think he'll be no worse than Jameis, and hard to imagine he'll be worse than Deshaun. And if he can just be at least as good as prime Flacco, well, that's a starting QB in the NFL.

Why is patting the ball a bad thing? Wasted motion? So like not a quick release?

He touches it when he throws the ball. Not when he pump fakes. If he pats it he throws it.

When a right handed QB rolls left, and cranks his body to throw back across the field, it's a hard throw, but most QBs let it rip. He still has to pat the ball to throw it.

It may not actually change or hinder his effectiveness as a QB, but it's weird how he has to do it every time. Also, I don't see other QBs with this issue.

You been watching the NFL, dawg? All QBs pat the ball. Some more than others but it doesn't do anything to help the defense because the throw comes right after the pat, though some pat and pump fake or change their mind, they all still do it.

For most, it's just part of a rhythm thing but a defender is not physically or mentally able to get a jump on a throw unless it's beyond 15-20 yards down field and they're staring at the QB.

Has it led to interceptions ever? Sure, but it's negligible.

Tells the defense he is throwing it , might give the db/s time to jump it.

Watch the video in post 773 above. I don't think it makes any real difference at all.
