None of the Asstros who got busted cheating to win the World Series got banned. So it's okay to cheat to win the WS, but not okay to cheat to lose it? If you don't do anything to those vile ****s, how can you still hold it against Jackson?

Rose is dead now, and being dead he's stopped being a giant douchebag. Go ahead and let him in. I like that policy for Bonds as well.

Sure but I don’t buy the idea that teams or players are making in game decisions based on betting lines. So I think teams are still just trying to compete to win like always. I see it the opposite. The story, as I recall, was that Rose dated a girl (purportedly 14? 15?) back in the '70s, when he was in his mid-30s. One girl, I think. Pete claimed that she was older than that (but doesn't seem to deny that she was a teenager). And i think at the time the age of consent in OH was 16.

another part of the story may be that the man who accused Rose of this was down on his luck at the time. Or, that's what i read/heard, I think. Felt like a possible money-grabbing scam at the time i read it.
