Unexplainable

What is the most unexplainable or weirdest thing that has ever happened to you or that you've seen with your own two eyes? This is a spin off the Insane Assylum thread. Just curious about your experience with things of this or other nature....

I heard that the church is gone now, at least the remaining walls.

Yup. Someone, unauthorized, bull-dozed the joint in the middle of the night a few years back......

an excerpt from one of the sites:

Quote:
Update: Added April 2002 -

According to the Lawrence (Kansas) newspaper, the Journal-World, the old stone church was mysterious torn down on Friday, March 29, 2002. A man named Major Weiss, who owns the property, along with two other people (who he declined to name) said that he did not authorize the abandoned church to be destroyed. Those who live nearby stated that they were also unaware of the demolition, although one of them did say that a wall of the church had collapsed about two weeks before.

The spooky church is no more
... although the reputation of Stull Cemetery still remains!

Well every telephone pole used to have a sarcastic cross painted on it.
What I am about to tell you is true. I swear it. One time when I was a senior my friend and i were headed out of Blue Springs and had just got a soda or something at QT on Woods Chapel and Valley View rd. (which coinsides w/ Selsa) We were headed west on VVR and not more than 100 yards from QT I spotted a lady on the side of the road. Something strange looking about her. Something EVIL. So I told my friend to turn around. We slowed down. I saw her face profile. She was talking to herself and holding a book flat in her hand. She seemed almost in a trance of somesort. She looked like Laura in Little hs on the pr. rolled in dirt. We went to QT because we assumed that was were she was headed. We talked to the clerks at QT they said she comes in all the time and is crazy.

Also I heard there were all kinds of negative forums happening on Selsa. A driver was evidentially shot in the head in the mid 80's there.

Another nice spot is Quarry road off 40 hwy. in Blue Springs. That is erie. Never investigated to much though. Little if any rumors circle Quarry Rd.

i remember the crosses on the poles...shit, they're probably still there..

remember the big white building on the SE corner of selsa and I-70? rumors circulated when i was a kid that a cult lived there, sounded like typical kid urban legend crap, but we went up there after it burned and saw some weird stuff, by that time, people were using it for paintball

Funny my Grandmother lived off of Seminole rd in Independence. Dont remember the subdivision. However seems like I heard about Selsa road mostly by neighborhood independence kids.

Speaking of urban legend in Independence.. did you all ever hear about the house across the street from the airport being a whorehouse, just because they had that red curtain?
I never knew if that was real or not. We drive by there going to the Little League football fields, and I still always wonder.

I'm confused - the only thing on Selsa road that I know of is Tri-City (Church & school). At first I thought much of the cult talk was jokes about that place but I'm guessing there is something else? On a different part of the road?

I drove on that section (from 39th St, south to the exit past 40hwy) of Selsa road every school day for three years and never saw anything odd.
