Well, you could run 60 100 meter dashes in said time period as well, but it's probably among the most hyped events of the Olympics every time. Think about it...9.8-9.9 seconds spread out over 4 fucking years....

True, but there are lots of different events at the Olympics. You're not just going to watch one important race and then leave.

This is correct...although according to Patrick Bateman, one of the most important things to do at the Kentucky Derby is rape a young debutante with a can of hairspray, thus justifying the expense I guess.
