I didn't say he was as good as Carmello. I said he makes it look easy. He's smooth.

I haven't watched very many Jayhawks games this season, I'll be honest...college basketball doesn't interest me...but I wasn't impressed by a single person on KU...Chalmers and Collins have terrible ball handling skills...the only thing that impressed me was when their big guy (don't even know his name) stepped up and nailed his two free throws.

To be fair though, SIU's defense is a bazillion times scrappier than anything KU had seen all season.

Yeah, their defense was awesome. But I hope Collins/Chalmers don't expect to play PG in the NBA, and if they do, they better find out how to handle the ball a little better.

Collins will make it to the NBA. Not so sure about Chalmers. You have to cut Collins some slack. He's a freshman and that was probably the toughest D he's faced in his entire life.

Don't know much about the guy...

I do know that, when Deron Williams was a freshmen at the U of I...everyone thought he was terrible. He developed into one of the NBA's best PG's...

So I'm sure with hard work both Collins/Chalmers could improve tremendously...

I just can't believe that Chalmers, a supposed team leader, couldn't make his free throws at the most important time of the game. That shows a lot about a player.

This was a bad game to judge the Jayhawks by. Every team has a bad game.

I understand.

But when people say Rush saved their ass, I think to myself, "Rush disappeared for almost the entire game..."

He made some good plays and some good baskets, but he scored a very quiet 10 or 12 points, that's for sure.

The Jayhawks definately got pushed out of their usual game tonight. Chalmers and especially Collins are generally great ball handlers. That's actually one of Collins strong points.

SIU never allowed them to get into their comfort zone. That's to their credit. To KU's credit, they were good enough to overcome it and win anyway.

I chalk the win up to SIU not making their open shots in the first half and never really putting the Jayhawks in any must score/must stop situations. SIU was the better team...at least in that game.

I think the majority could agree on that part.

My argument against all the Saluki fans who thought their team was just as good as Kansas had been, sure, SIU could win a 1 game series... but there was a decent chance they couldn't hang for a full 40 minutes, and it's not like they are equals that could win a 7 game series.

I was wrong.

SIU gave us all we could handle. Missing shots is part of every game. They may have been more tenacious on defense... but a "better team" ends up with a win. KU didn't win by accident. They won because they did what they had to when they had to and were deep enough to stay fairly fresh against the SIU defense.

Plus the ref giving KU the dunk that should not of counted due to the time and the goaltending that wasn't called on the foul...so yea KU was better with the refs helping.

Wow. What was the dunk worth... two points. How many did KU win by... three points... and if you don't think SIU was the beneficiary of the refs bad calls too you didn't watch the game.
