I can't imagine someone other than my wife or me being there to see our kids' first step, laugh, new word or any of the thousand and one other things that make being a parent worth while.
I've seen a lot of professional associates, mostly women, try to act like they don't wish they were at home with their kids instead of working all day. Not one of them convinced me they really felt that way. How sad to have someone else raise your kids.
