My bad. Here's last year, then. Porcello. Regarded by all "experts" as the second-best guy. Wanted lots of cash. Two years ago, very likely Andrew Miller, by most accounts the top prospect in the draft.

I know there were knocks against both of these guys, but the fact remains they both wanted lots of cash and the Royals didn't take them. If it looks like a duck...

True. But they were able to use him to get Cabrera. I would have traded Hochevar for him yesterday.

I like hochevar at the time better. Now i think hochevar is a solid like number 3 or whatever. At the time I liked hochevar better I am just going to bitch about the scouts and coaching tonight because we know talent especially in the majors can come from anywhere santana and Mexican Abe lincoln were both rule 5 drive picks. Pujols and piazza were later pics. Can't we just hit on one or two of these people in the last 5 or 6 years. I understand that we didn't hit on the top guys maybe about money but those aren't the only two who are allowed to be stars.
