I don't think that CB, RB, or Safety warrant top five picks unless you are picking Barry Sanders or a Champ Bailey type freak (and Vontae Davis isn't that, IMO).
Oh and LBs are never worth top 10 picks either unless it's a 3-4 rusher which is like taking a DE.

I think 8-10 is ok for an LB. I liked the Rivers pick by Cincy @ 9-10, for one.

I love Keith Rivers but for him to be worth his pick he has to make 8 pro bowls he basically has to be Keith Bulluck or Derrick Brooks.

I wouldn't put it past him but he has to so significantly overperform nearly everyone else at his position.

I don't agree with this at all. Why exactly does a linebacker have to make 8 pro-bowl to be worth the 9th pick? The 9th pick isn't quite that valuable.

Do you believe a non pass rushing OLB is nearly as important to a team as a DE or LT or even a CB or a DT?

I'm a huge fan of Rivers he's outstanding in coverage and has a ton of talent but LB is a devalued position when teams pull productive starters out of the 3rd and 4th round.

It depends on who is still left on the board. With the 9th pick it is certainly possible that an OLB is the most valuable player still on the board. You aren't comparing Keith Rivers to an elite cb prospect, you are comparing him to Leodis McKelvin.
