Funny how the team as a whole can affect the play of a unit. When that "circus offense" scored a shit ton of points, it had a way of making opposing teams one dimensional.

Of course, it was Gun's brilliance (and vocal cords111) that made the difference. What happened in the following three seasons when more draft picks and FA dollars were used on the D? Herm? Carl? The chefs at Arrowhead?

The very same offense didn't have that effect on the defense the year prior.
And for most of Vermeil's administration.

Of course you did. The comparison was implicit by saying that the offense didn't have the same effect before Gun's arrival.

I know. That's why I spouted off about Teflon. Sorry, IMO, anyone who is remotely tied to this historically bad defense has to go down with the ship. Gun. Our "defensive minded" head coach. No one gets a pass.

They were all pivotal in perfecting the shit sandwich that was the '08 KC Chiefs defense.
