KMBC 9 news: Gunther just accepted Detroit's Defensive co job

Im not saying he's great or anything, But Detroit can't get any worse, and pairing him with schwartz may make a competant defense. NVM what he did here. No, he didn't do shit here, but who has? Players & Coaches seem to come to KC to die.Vermiel's offense is the only thing worth mentioning over the past decade, and everyone hates his ass.

I don't want him here, but i won't be surprised if Detroit works out well for him. Like i said, decent coaches and proven players never seem to succeed in KC.

Well based on Detroit's history it would be even less surprising to see both Schwartz and Gunther fail miserably there too...

Gunther and Preifer were 2 of the worst, IMO.

Happy to see them both gone, I doubt he will be, but I hope Gun's successful in Detroit.

Now we have Dick Curl, Krumrie, and the King Pen of all that sucks, Herm Edward to go....

No, Herm and Curl and Krummy are the worst of the bunch and we still have them. I would rather have kept Gunther over the other three.
Gunther has been handicapped by nothing but offense Vermeil and I don't know shit about anything Edwards. I remember loving the D that Gunther had years ago.

Yeah, I just said Gunther and Preifer were 2 OF the worst.

Not that they were THE worst.

In fact, I called Herm the King Pen Of All That Sucks in my post... so there really wasn't any disagreement to be had.

We only had one coach that I would've been happy keeping and that's Sims.

I would be OK with keeping Gailey, but really don't care either way.

Other than that, they can all GTFO.

As far as Gunther being handicapped ? Well I guess alot of defensive coordinators are handicapped then. Because Gunther only looked great when he was completely surrounded by incredible talent.

Show me a season where one of his teams only had average to just above average talent but he coached them up and made them a good defense ?

It hasn't happened.

Gun needs very highly talented players at each level of the defense to make himself look good, if you try to get him part of the way there with average / above average talent, and expect him to coach and scheme away for the other part.... it aint happenin.
