We can't have a team full of rookies and we need a few players with 3-4 experience. He isn't the same player he used to be, but hes also still an upgrade over what we have and a great transition player. He already knows what our team is going to be all about. Odds are the pick traded wont be with the team in a few years either anyways.

Schefter was oftentimes the first to report stuff when Pioli was with the Pats, too. Rumor was that he and Mike Reiss (local guy) were pretty much the only reporters who had legitimate access to the Pats' FO last year (although that's all relative- open access for them would be closed-off for most others).

Why wouldn't we?

He was the BEST ****ING DEFENSIVE prospect in the draft...LAST YEAR.

He didn't get injured...he had a tough year because he wasn't properly utilized...I'm pretty sure other NFL talent evaluators and GM's could see that...

I am fairly certain a team in the 20's would give a 1st for a guy like Dorsey...

The only way I'll be OK with this deal is if it's something like a swap of picks in a later round.

But to flat out give up a pick for a 34 year old that is on the decline, even if conditional, is foolish when you're trying to rebuild.
I'm not missing anything. You clearly are. It's called the big picture.

I think the whole self importance you guys blanket each other in is hilarious. Don't stop any of that, it is cute.

Exactly who did the Chiefs have on their roster who has the leadership and winning experience that Vrabel does?

Damon Huard?

Because a win-now team like the Patriots isn't going to get rid of a guy for a 7th rounder if he has any plans for them this year.

They need guys who can help them win right now. If they are trading him it's either because they don't believe he can (and looking at his production, they'd be right) or we really overpaid for him.
