How so? He traded Shanahan's QB. He changed Shanahan's defense from a 4-3 to a 3-4. He benched Shanahan's starting LG. Cut Shanahan's punter. Lets Eddie Royal return kicks and punts. Cut all of Shanahan's running backs except for Peyton Hills but he is on the bench. McDaniels fired every single one of Shanahan's coaches except Keith Burns, Rick Dennison, and Bobby Turner. He let 2 of Shanahan's General Managers go.

After all was said and done, McDaniels cut over 52 percent of Shanahan's roster.
