What pisses me off the most about this whole National Championship bullshit is that Florida had four.....count 'em.....FOUR legitimate "away games" in a 12 game schedule:

Sep 5: CHARLESTON SOUTHERN W 62-3
Sep 12: TROY W 56-6
Sep 19: TENNESSEE W 23-13
Sep 26: at Kentucky W 41-7
Oct 10: at LSU W 13-3
Oct 17: ARKANSAS W 23-20
Oct 24: at Mississippi State W 29-19
Oct 31: at Georgia (in Jacksonville, FL) W 41-17
Nov 7: VANDERBILT W 27-3
Nov 14: at South Carolina W 24-14
Nov 21: FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL W 62-3
Nov 28: FLORIDA STATE W 37-10

Add in the ****ing garbage they're playing against. Troy? Florida International? Charleston Southern? **** that and **** college football as a whole. Somebody tell me how my thinking is wrong (and be nice about it.)
All teams schedule some garbage games. Alabama also played Florida International in addition to North Texas and Chattanooga. TCU scheduled Texas State and already has garbage teams within their conference. Texas had Louisiana-Monroe, Wyoming (which is a garbage team already in TCU's conference), UTEP and UCF.

Florida's SoS is #20, which is the 3rd highest in the top 10, and it'll go up after they play Alabama.... and I believe they've been in the top 5 in the last year or two, too. They've scheduled Miami in the past and they play FSU every year, so along with the SEC schedule, they other slots will always be cupcakes.

Even if there was a playoff format, teams in conferences like the SEC and Big 12 (South, anyway) wouldn't schedule tough non-conference opponents, due to the potential number of ranked opponents in conference.

As much as I'd love to see teams like TCU and BSU find ranked schools that will play them, I can't think of a good reason it would happen if there was a playoff format, much less the current format.

Umm, they have the same amount of non-conference opponents as Florida and any of the other BCS schools sans the PAC-10.

Bullshit. Alabama or Florida with 1 loss deserves it more than TCU. TCU has destroyed its opponents so IMO they deserve an at-large bid in a BCS game, but until they play a tougher schedule...no way.

They do schedule them. It's just years out and by then....they aren't very good anymore.

BCS Conference fans always have this bullshit excuse that the non-BCS schools don't play a tougher schedule. Then how the **** can they do that, if a)nobody will play them and b)its not exactly their own fault they aren't in a "power" conference.

It just pisses me off, I hear it come basketball time as well which affects my school more than football.

This is the thing....they may play in a weaker conference, but it's not like they are winning their games by a point or a field goal....they're slaughtering their opponents. They're undefeated and if you've ever watched them play, you don't need to watch them against Texas to know that they're pretty damn good.

If it makes you feel better, my school has Boise scheduled for next year at Fedex field.....a somewhat neutral field. These schools get scheduled

It's not so much who they've beat and by how much, but it's about what Fla and Alabama have accomplished in the SEC. Give TCU a full SEC schedule and see what happens. I doubt they fair as well. Samething with Cincinatti. Here's a team worse than TCU, but they get in the big conference and they will probbaly play in thier second orange bowl against Clemson or Gerogia Tech.

Playoffs would be nice. They could still utilize the bowl games and probably make even more money. The current system sucks.

Strength of Schedule:

Alabama -- 14 (and going up after this weekend)
Florida -- 20 (and going up after this weekend)
Texas -- 41
Cincinnati -- 58 (and going up after this weekend)
TCU -- 68
BSU -- 80

Garcia Bronco's comments about scheduling makes me wonder when Utah/Michigan last year was originally scheduled, because the opposite took place... Utah wanted a decent OOC opponent, but Michigan sucked.
