I know most of you would love a safety but we need pass rush.

Passrushers are valued more than safeties.

IF Mays is a Polamanu type then maybe but can you guarantee that?

If we had a legit fast passrusher like a Demarcus Ware then we win a couple more games.

Just going by Walter Football draft....

1. Eric Berry, S
2. Von Miller/Jerry Hughes OLB
2. Dan Williams, NT
3. Micah Johnson, LB
4. Kris O'Dowd, C

Our defense could be improved in a hurry plus if O'Dowd fell to the 4th, our center position (the one OL we need to improve the most) would be taken care.

Seriously, is there any conceivable way O'Dowd falls that far?

I have my doubts.

He has 12.5 sacks. Thats a good number, but look at the game splits. 7.5 of those sacks came in two games against the Packers and their shit line. Against the rest of the NFL, Allen has 5 sacks in 9 games.

We dont play the Packers once, let alone twice, so what good does that do us? Based on his sack rate against everyone else the Vikings have played, if Allen was in KC right now he would have about 6 sacks. Except that sack rate is based on his performance with the big ol Williams boys in the middle of his defensive line, which would not be the case here. So his number would drop even lower.

We could be nice and say it would only take 1 sack off his total, so that would leave him with 5. A whole 5 sacks. That is 1.5 more than Tamba Hali has.

Is anyone going to argue that we should have spent $70M on a guy who would be giving us 5 sacks one year after his deal?

And before anyone says Allen having a lack of production must be opening things up for other people, other than their games against the Packers the Vikings arent getting sacks at any better rate than they were a year ago.

True, but consider the fact that MOST elite DEs get a good number of their sacks against teams with shakey offensive lines/QBs who hold onto the ball for too damn long. The Packers are just a team that Jared capitalized against, and he played them twice in a season.

Take away the top two games of production away from ANY good DE and you'll find numbers very similar to Jared's. Also... Jared gets 7.5 sacks taken away for playing the Packers twice but Tamba doesn't get however many sacks taken away from the good games he had against the Redskins and Raiders? (I think those were his good games, can't remember though)

Yes, because bringing pressure consistently, winning man to man battles consistently sacks-be damned, is something the Chiefs really have no need of.

Step 1) Think.

Step 2) Type.

This, +1.

Step 3) Remove genitals because you shouldn't be allowed to reproduce.

Seriously? Jared Allen is a elite pass rusher and your saying Tamba is playing just about as well as JA would be for us?

You would think the fan base would have learned it's lesson with Neil Smith regarding whose word was gold when it came to Peterson, but nope.
We pissed away an Elite Talent and a guy who put HIS money and HIS name on a new restaurant on the West Side( not some ****ing yuppie bullshit location in Overland Park ), a guy that loved the KC experience and appreciated his fans, and shipped his ass off to the NFC so we could honor wasted millions given to a ****ing FLAKE who could only stand being in the City long enough to run like a little girl for four quarters and drag everyone around him down.

And some of you mother****ers want to get your panties in a twist because several people on this board choose to watch Pioli and Haley with a scrutinizing eye instead of 'fan goggles'?

**** YOU.
