Railing against a 7th rounder is like predicting a happy ending in a Disney movie. That said, he still got it wrong...as usual.

Why start a crusade to cut a 7th round pick? Maybe I'll start a crusade not to sign Todd Reesing.

I was not as clear as I could have been. I didn't mean to quantify how much better of an opportunity one round can be vs another round. I was merely saying that the 7th round, like the 1st or 2nd et al, is an opportunity by which teams can and do improve themselves.

Got it wrong? How? O'Connell is one of the worst players in the entire NFL. Are you saying Hamas is wrong because Jake has made the roster? That's curious logic. I guess people are wrong about Cassel because, hey, he's on the roster. He must be good! Mike Brown wasn't terrible last year - he was starting! All starters are inherently good!

You can't compare Cassel or Brown to O'Connel. Pioli has nothing invested in Jake. He could have cut him, and it wouldn't have been looked at as a huge waste. You are smarter than this. He earned his way onto the roster. Twice.

Bull****. He has more career penalty yards than receiving yards.

You also seem to conflate prediction with desire, which are discrete entities. Then again, I'm not surprised.

You seem to think I'm on a crusade. I'm merely dispelling the idea that he earned his way on to the roster. He didn't. He's a terrible ****ing football player.

meh

So is Cassel. O'Connell only bothers me when he takes the field. Hamas' sig doesn't bother me, I was just curious about 7th round pick values.

He's actually two seventh round picks. Pioli traded up for him.

I may be wrong, but I think we traded a future 7th rounder to take Jake that year, I don't think we traded two 7th rounders to move up to select him...did we? I admittedly didnt follow the trade that closely, I pretty much write off 7th rounders as "he wont amount to shit, if he does it is a complete bonus"
