Positive Rep for an email address!!!

I want the email address for the CEO of an accounting firm named BDO...

http://www.bdo.com/

Or an email address where I can be heard...not just that shitty contact form.

I need my voice to be heard.

POSITIVE REP for good detective work.

I do get a kick out of that.

Can I nominate it for the hall of classics exclusively on those grounds? How many times can we drive the board's biggest punching bag into adopting an ignore list?

I've had a pretty damn awesome day for a number of reasons, but this just tops it off.
Admittedly, I was surprised by that, considering the intense amount of shit that others have thrown at him. Sometimes a balance of logic and meanness can have profound effects, apparently.

I've noticed that our senses are rarely in common.

Calling your opinion "common sense" is hardly a trump card.

You're right, tipping based solely on services rendered by the waiter/waitress is not common sense.

Noswad is facing a unique set of circumstances and truly unfair hardships that make her acutely sensitive to some of these issues.

I respect where she's coming from even when I disagree.

As such, I probably wouldn't bark up that particular tree.

She is, I believe, a public school teacher — an employee of a government monopoly on taxpayer-supported education whose position is protected by a collective bargaining agreement and who is very likely represented by a union or a teachers' organization.

Not that I'm saying that her opinion isn't well informed. (And I could be wrong about her job.)

Well, I was seeking an example from an area she might be familiar with. But I don't see a non results or budget oriented business like government offering a lot of perspective of a business owner... I will let it be then.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I have called out the manager when I've gotten poor food. But, I probably have not bothered on occasion and taken out my anger on the wait staff. Perhaps I should re-evaulate that behavior.

Two things:

1) Apparently you are all incorrect...BDO ended up being very concerned with this issue judging by the emails I have received today.

2) As I mentioned earlier, the place I work at is unlike any other place I have worked at...they are so popular and do such good business and they have NEVER operated under the "customer is always right" model. Ever. If they mess up your pizza...tough luck...you can either wait another hour or you can never come back...it's frustrating at times but it's also nice at times, as the owner is a great family man and he sticks up for his good employees.

3) All I wanted was some answers from BDO and I am quite content with the graciousness they showed me over email. That's all I wanted...a little piece of mind. We were very offended last night and now I realize it was just ignorance on the customers part, oh well. Glad everything has been handled and I am no longer as pissed off about the whole situation.

But thanks for the 500 post thread on telling me how you would all run a restaurant...you all sound like the ****ing Bennigan's chain I once worked at that is no longer in business...they were such a good bunch! They didn't pay any of their managers the last 6 weeks before going under...claiming it was some error in the payroll department, and everything would be fixed...and then they filed for bankruptcy over night and two of my paychecks bounced and none of those managers ever got paid...for 6 weeks of work...one of my managers was a single mom just trying to make ends meet!

But yeah...it's all about the bottom line! Who cares about the people who work hard week in and week out and promote your product and take care of the REGULARS that they have helped bring in week in and week out...you're right! Lets bend over backwards for that once a year table that, in all actuality, was not only bad for my business, but was bad for the restaurants business as well. Opportunity cost was not there...they took up an entire half of the restaurant we could not use, and we ended up turning away a ton of customers...who would have probably at least equaled the bill of the large party.

That's the thing about that large of a party...they don't order booze, they don't order appetizers, and they order pitchers...the average cover for each person was about $6, when it is usually about $10 or $11...

So again...you restaurant "geniouses" are also wrong...

but please...keep telling me what I know and what I don't know about a place I spend 40 hours a week at...it's quite entertaining.
