2010 Kansas City Royals Repository thread

All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

Welcome! "Grab a Brew... don't cost nuthin"...[spills beer on feet]

No we are help making your point better that our home grown talent isn't turning into studs once we get rid of them.

Well, then the ultimate slam is that, for a long time, the mother****er (Glass) was so cheap in the draft that we had to win the lottery to select a player good enough to worry about trading away.

DeJesus would be a "meh" example. Nice player. Not elite.

Well, ok.

Count me in on the side that says we haven't been producing near enough of our own talent. It's not that we're trading it away, it's never really been there in the first place.

Personally, I couldn't be more excited about what's going to be happening here in the next few years. I wish the majority of the young studs were coming up this year so we could keep Zack around for it, but I understand why he wants out. If we get a haul out of him, it's sick to think what we'll be like. We'll almost have a problem of too many guys that will be coming around at the same time.

With you there. I think that's been his biggest mistake. Well, that and a totally inept talent evaluation staff prior to Moore arriving.

Here's what we do. Wait for the Phillies to sign Lee. Then offer Greinke for Utley and Howard. It's not like they'd need an offense then anyway.

First big hurdle is that Moose needs to come up this year and not look completely overwhelmed.

I hope he's hitting 7th or 8th when that time comes, not 5th, as Gordon was.

Yeah, thats one thing we'll need to be ready for. A lot of our prospects will be up in 2012, but at least some of them are going to struggle with the adjustment. Optimistically maybe we could be 0.450-0.500 in 2012, but they will need time, 2013-14 before we can start to hope.

Yep.

This is one of the reasons why one can make a cogent argument for keeping the likes of Greinke (and DeJesus). Young players shouldn't have to worry about expectations and carrying a team. When they look around and see nothing but trash, however, it's probably hard to feel otherwise.

This is similar to what some of us said about trading Gonzo once Cassel was acquired. The former's value to a team looking to groom a new QB could be greater than the draft pick in return.

Wasn't there a big deal bout Lee's wife and kid(s) getting spat upon in Yankee's Stadium? I wouldn't be surprised a bit if he were to take $18mill a year instead of $21mill or whatever it works out to be.

Per ESPN, the Yankees are out of the running on Lee. Think this increases Zach's value?
