The Chiefs want to trade up for Julio Jones?

Just read this in the latest Walter mock. Not sure if it's been discussed, but it's the first I've heard of it.

http://walterfootball.com/draft2011_2.php

Quote:
I just learned that the Chiefs want to trade up for Julio Jones. I don't know if that'll be possible. If they can't get the Alabama wideout, they may target Leonard Hankerson in Round 2.

A list of players who have lined up across from Dwayne Bowe this season: Chris Chambers, Terrance Copper and Verran Tucker. Bleh. The Chiefs have shown interest in Hankerson.

Not sure what it would take, but I've absolutely loved Julio Jones since he was a freshman.

what makes you think Pioli is a guy that goes after the "guy his coach wants"?

imo Pioli is a guy who asks his coach what "type" of guy he wants and then takes over and makes the decision about who to draft himself.

I think Pioli is much more of a trade down guy ... not trade up. He saves the trading up for the later rounds.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we took Torrey Smith in the first, to be honest.

I dont think he's a trade up or trade down kinda guy.

I think he's a "we found the guy we want, so lets go get him" kinda guy.

I was high on smith initially, but the more I watch his highlights, the more I wanna shy away from him.

He's a body catcher. He lets the ball into his body too often. I also never see him really fight for the ball. He seems to like to let it fall into his arms. I think that'll be an issue in the NFL.

or he's the type that's achieving exactly what's occurring now, which is trying to keep everyone guessing.

This is a waste of a thread. Pioli in not about to sacrifice any draft picks to move up.

Which will maybe make someone else have to trade up.

WTF does he know? The Chiefs (Pioli) are the least transparent front officer in the NFL it seems at times.

But I wouldn't mind this at all. Because let's face it....this is a horrible draft with exception of a handful of players, Jones being one of them. I'd rather trade picks in a not so deep draft and draft Jones.

However we also desperately need OL, OLB, and NT

No, no...Pioli is a up man. Two straight drafts in a row he's moved up for offensive players.

I can see this thing happening.

I'm sure Haley is envisioning a Boldin/Fitz type of duo with Bowe and Jones. And with Jones' willingness to block downfield on runs, we'd have three stellar second level lead blockers in Bowe, Moeaki and Jones.

It's going to cost us a couple of picks, but Jones is one of those rare talents that necessitates a roll of the dice to acquire.

Depending on where Green goes, I think that the Chiefs will have to move up into the Browns spot to acquire Jones. That's going to cost at least a 2nd and a 3/4 as well as a first next year or a potential player trade.

However, if he's "the guy," I don't see a problem with that. It's not like we have a ton of talent at the position outside of Bowe.

How is that you don't know that players can not be traded in this draft?

You shipdit! We can find a serviceable receiver in round 2 that happens to have a mom and dad and be a team captain!
