But they said things that they've heard me say about myself numerous times. I can't hold it against them whenever they think I believe it to be a matter of fact anyway. It is, but it just hurts a little more when other people say it, ya know?

Well, one of them was completely wasted at the time. People tend to say whatever is truly on their minds.

The other one....I'm not good at sports. I wish I was. And he was trying to talk a few others into playing. I got him good earlier, so it was probably just payback. He wouldn't intentionally say something if he knew it would hurt my feelings. Normally it wouldn't, but it was just after hearing the other thing the night before.

If they are truly your friends, then you should know they are kidding around and you should be able to have a comeback for them. If you aren't sure if they are kidding around, and it hurts your feelings, then they aren't truly the friends you think they are. If that's the case, then tell em to go play hide and go **** themselves and get better friends. I'm 44 years old and made the decision many years ago that I'm too old to hang with people that don't make me feel good about being their pals, even when we are giving each other major shit. If a "friend" makes me feel otherwise, then I have no need for them in my life. If they are a good friend, there isn't any limit to what I will do for them.

I am the same way. I think it was just one of those times when I take things personal when I shouldn't. I'm used to the one friend (in the second scenario) giving me shit. As I said, I had gotten him really good earlier that day. I think it was just that on top of what the other person said the day before. And I'm a moody female. Probably just caught me at the wrong time.
