Chiefs ran a 3-4 from 89 to 93. Then they switched to the traditonal 4-3 in 94 through 96. 97 is when they went to the Falcon which is a hybrid 3-4,4-3 defense.

DT didn't do too bad in 94-96 he had 32 sacks in that time-span.

I only brought up DT to clarify that Von Miller wasn't going to be used like a regular 4-3 OLB, he was going to be given plenty of opportunities to get after the QB.

We shared with you on Tuesday a list of the teams with more than $20 million in cap space. And we mentioned within the past hour or so that the Eagles still have some breathing room.

Now, it’s time to look at the teams that had some work to do, as of Tuesday, to get under the spending limit.

Per a source with knowledge of the cap numbers, here are the seven teams that were in the red: Raiders ($17.3 million), Steelers ($11.5 million), Texans ($8.5 million), Vikings ($5.6 million), Lions ($5 million), Cowboys ($3.7 million), and Panthers ($939,000).

I could be wrong, but wasn't Carolina on the list you posted of teams with over $20M of cap space?

Shaun Smith got 7 mill for 3 years (total, not guaranteed)...that can't qualify as overpaid in the nfl under any circumstances...certainly not for DE with almsot 60 tackles

Edwards was trash and I'm glad he's gone...Warren was a ? mark and now he's a bronco so f him...

IMO Letting Shaun Smith walk was a big mistake.

I think it was a statement by Pioli that "Im gonna give Tyson Jackson every opportunity to turn things around before I cut him next year and look like a fool."

I dont think it was smart, but I can understand why he did it.

If Tyson comes out and has a solid year, Pioli will look good because he didnt give up on TJ too early...but...if Tyson doesnt make big improvements to his game, it will bite Pioli in the ass.
