The biggest fails in sports history
There have been some huge fails in sports with decision making. But one thing that I notice is that nobody ever talks about how the Chargers let Brees walk into free agency. He's gonna go down as top 5 of all time IMO. I think he's winning another Superbowl this year, he's just that good and he's in the zone.

You have the Herschel Walker debacle, Babe Ruth going to the yankees, Falcons trading Favre, Hornets trading Kobe and the Chargers letting Brees go.

but nobody ever talks about Brees. Why?

I recall saying that Bree's would be a career backup QB out of college.

But SD had no choice, Bree's had shoulder surgery and NO took a big gamble on him, it just paid off.

And then the Dolphins, under Saban, and desperately needing a new QB had to decide between Culpepper, coming off some kind of leg surgery, and Brees, coming off shoulder surgery (and somewhat younger).

Thankfully, they chose Culpepper, thinking that the shoulder surgery made him too risky. Thank God. Now, 5 or whatever years later, Saban is back in college, Brees is right in there with Brady and Rodgers in the ultra-elite category, and the Dolphins still have no idea who their QBOTF is.
