I've been wondering why we Mizzou fans don't have one of these.

I was thinking about that today before the game.

I mean as good as they are now... with healthy Bowers? Damn.

Ratliffe's transformation this year has been nothing short of amazing. He is a completely different player this year, and you have to hand it to the coaching staff for putting him in the position to succeed.

He's taking smart shots, not forcing anything, playing the high-low like a boss, making the extra pass, and playing solid defense while avoiding foul trouble.

He's a joy to watch.

That will take an almost perfect game from us, especially now that Baylor is good and pissed off after the beating they took last night.

Not trying to be Johnny Raincloud here, but I'd look for the kSU game part deux on Saturday.

Hope I'm wrong.

I think we'll be doing good if we split with KSU, Baylor, and KU.

Probably, but the bright side is KU has to go visit KSU and Baylor still. We have them on the road so KU is far from out of the woods in thos whole deal.

The arena would have murdered that ref with the short dark hair had he called that a charge (and it really could have been) after the turnover.

When he called the turnover, he'd made a couple of iffy calls in the minutes leading up to that and you could see Haith was getting annoyed. The turnover happened right in front of Haith and the Mizzou bench so during the timeout, Haith was talking to him. Haith finally turns away to his huddle and that asshole official walks into the huddle and starts pointing at guys and going back at Haith. It was amazingly unprofessional.

The entire place went nuts on him and you could see him start to get agitated. He started to get more animated as the boos got louder and finally glanced around and walked over to the scorers table to 'spot' the ball and call for the inbounds.

I honestly could've seen him calling that next bucket a charge had the crowd not been wildly hostile not 15 seconds before that call. It was as angry as I've seen Mizzou Arena in a long time.

Yeah, a 6-8 F with crazy athletic ability (who's averaging 14/8 at North Texas) would be a really nice complement right now.

With Bowers and Mitchell we'd be the best team in the country, IMO.

We could bang with anyone, we could run with anyone, we could defend any big or any guard. If we needed to shoot to win, we could do it. If we needed to score underneath to grind out a W, that's a club we'd have as well. We could run a big lineup with Ratliff, Bowers, Mitchell going 5, 4, 3, Kim at the 2 and Denmon running the point or an athletic lineup with Bowers at the 5, English at the 4, Denmon, Dixon and Pressey. Combinations thereof would obviously be ideal, but the matchup possibilities would be virtually limitless.

Ugh...like I said - I try not to think about what could have been.

Thank you, Frank Martin.

If he doesn't convince Mitchell to go to that stupid Florida school in the first place, Mitchell is at Mizzou.

It Martin doesn't blow the whistle after Mitchell commits to Mizzou, Mitchell is at Mizzou.

Jerk.

3 losses will win the conference, so whoever takes care of business at home and doesn't slip up against lesser competition on the road should win it.

It will be very tough. The good thing is that Baylor is still not a well coached team. Scott Drew is a smuck. If we can put some pressure on them, they might break.

Drew is a poor man's Calipari. He goes after top talent and sells them on showcasing themselves in a "dribble-drive" system (which is really just playing 1 on 1) instead of winning.

It always ends the same way. When they can overwhelm an opponent with talent, the win and look great doing it. When they run into a talented team that plays well together, they fold at the first sign of adversity and suddenly turn into 5 guys just trying to get theirs. 22 points on 6-21 shooting in a 16 point loss just means they scored 22 points, and that's all that matters to those guys. Lacedarius Dunn was the master of that, and now Drew has a whole team of guys with that mentality. That can work when you have NBA talent 7 deep with 4 lottery picks, but Baylor isn't there.
