A modest proposal (chiefs poll)

Well, not really. The idea is this... would you be ok, as a chiefs fan, with the following situation?

1) Chiefs sign peyton manning (or trade for an older franchise QB... ignore the details, they aren't important) and somehow win the super bowl this next season

2) the next season, said franchise QB has an injury and/or retires, otherwise leaving us QB-less

3) in the afterglow of the super bowl, the chiefs follow up with seasons like...

2013: 7-9
2014: 4-12
2015: 8-8 (not in playoffs)
2016: 6-10
2017: 3-13 (not drafting a franchise qb; we tend to ignore them around here)
2018: 2-14 (nope, no franchise QB)
2019: 5-11 (vet backup, traded for from another team, improves us 150%!)
2020: 9-7 (we build a team with a good defense, but we have no offense)
2021: 7-9 (injuries mount up)
2022: 6-10 (OH NO, WE SUCK AGAIN)

in other words, no playoffs for ten years, more retreads at QB, utter complete shit from our chiefs (should be used to it)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

so, would you be satisfied with a super bowl win followed by ten years of our typical shit?

I'd trade my first born for a Super Bowl win.

I kid......maybe.

Poll should have been public so we could have flogged anyone who doesn't want a super bowl win.

Uhhh....yeah. Not really even a question.

Really, you're just asking if we'd rather be the Rams or the Chiefs for the past decade.

I thought the OP was going to be how we prepare Cassel for game day: Stewed or roasted?

A SB win followed by 10 years of drought is a cinch. I'd like to see the anomoly include Orton or Stanzi.

There is just NO guarantee we would win a Super Bowl this year with Payton Manning and btw oh "snap". I'd take the odds of drafting a QB & build it from there and draft another QB next year if at all need be. Better the odds for the next 10 years.

Well, considering I don't see us winning a superbowl before I die, hell yes I would take this.

I can't really believe that Manning is going to do anything more than retire. A quick hit and a useful life in retirement would be gone. He's damaged a significant portion of his anatomy, I'd not take the chance.

I would like to see the Chiefs win a SB, or even be in one before time for a dirtnap.

it's a hypothetical. obviously, NOTHING is guaranteed unless you're in make-believe land. you know, like the opening post suggests.
