It wasn't my poll; there were polls on Rivals and Hogville (along with hundreds of threads). The fan base as represented on those sites were pretty clear in their opinion of retaining the coach.

Regarding Long, as I noted, he does appear to be a good guy. He undoubtedly did the right thing.

I do actually think that you are right about this being the right choice for the long term health. I hate it for some of the kids in the system... some outstanding talent. i would love to transplant Tyler Wilson to the Chiefs.

yep, it is a no win situation for Arkansas. We shall see just how good the Athletic Director is by how effectively and quickly he replaces Petrino.

I didn't get to watch the presser. Just saw a post that Clay Henry was floating that rumor. Certainly doesn't mean there is any truth to it.

At this point, I'll take Long at his word. I don't really need to form any lower opinion of Petrino, and I really don't want my opinion of Long diminished.

who knows? but we are going to be hard pressed to find an offense minded guy equal to Petrino. My preference is Gus Malzahn who just took the job at Arkansas State University. He's from the area and also a brilliant offensive coordinator. I've been predicting him to be an SEC coach since he was a high school coach in NW Ark.
