I always have a nice pair for driving and then a bunch of cheap ones for everything else.

I have a pair of Oakleys. Probably out of my age range, and makes me auto douche in some views, but I love them.

Besides, I had broken/lost so many cheapies that I figured if I put down enough change on a decent pair, that I would actually care for them and make them last. And I was right.

I had a pair of Oakleys that lasted me 10 years; I loved the damn things. Then again, I had a decent pair of Ray-Bans that I broke in 2 years.

Eh, I'll just buy another high-dollar pair. They're lighter, more effective and a damn sight more comfortable. I could eat hamburger every night instead of steak as well, but sometimes spending a little extra is worth it.

Sunglasses qualify, IMO.

I've owned two higher-end pairs over the past ~15 years, so they're worth it to me.

I don't spend a TON of money, but I do spend a decent amount for good sunglasses mostly for driving in the day or if I'm going to be outside in high sun. I also wear contacts, so am a little sun-sensitive when driving. I usually go with the Dragon brand, just because I think at some $$$ point all sunglasses are good, and I like the logo.

I've been several options in the poll. There is a difference. There's a lot to be said for a quality pair of polarized shades. That said, I try to buy nice shades cheap. Sometimes I'll see a decent pair of $85-150 sunglasses at a surplus store for $20. I'll buy 2 or 3 pair of them. But I generally wear cheap ones these days because I've become cheap in my old age. I picked up a dozen pair of tinted safety glasses for work a couple years back for about $1.50 apiece and they're actually polarized. Wish I had bought every pair they had.

I'm a mid range guy, but I tend to take fairly good care of them and have them for years. Plus I have an odd shaped noggin and light sensitive eyes. I tend to wear wraparound because they are the only things that block enough sun to make it worth having them on.

I had a pair I loved that I got in Jamaica that I recently flushed down the toilet on accident at the airport. Don't ask. It's hard to find a good pair. Anyone know of a good site?

I break/lose at least 1 pair every 2 weeks.....

But they are a must, as I spend 8-13 hours a day driving
