Pros: Decent pay, great benefits, pension and 401k, the scenery changes daily, 4 (10's), lots of vacation time. I had a lot of vacation stockpiled and sold 65 hours back to the company to pay for a new toy.
Cons: Not many guys climb poles anymore. I get volunteered a lot. Working on aerial equipment in the winter sucks. |

Now I plow cable/fiber and do aerial work in the winter since the ground is froze. I rarely get over 20' anymore. However, working off gaffs in high winds in the winter even at 15' is a bitch. |
