People didn't want Tamba Hali out of town. They didn't have faith that he could make the 3-4 transition, but he was the best we had.

Nobody wanted Hali run out of town, we just thought he sucked because of one down year.

Nobody wanted Green run out of town, we just thought he sucked because of one down year.

McCluster and Stanzi have shown limited potential across multiple seasons. Stanzi less so, but he's given less leeway/expectation as a 5th rounder.

Teicher says Poe sucks, our backup QBs suck.

Quote:
---Woe is Poe? It’s far too early to worry about Dontari Poe, the Chiefs first-round draft choice. The Chiefs are probably doing the right thing by bringing him along slowly. But Romeo Crennel recently tried to downplay expectations for Poe, saying that for now, at least, he’s going to be a pass rusher and nothing else. That’s OK, for now. If the Chiefs get something from Poe early in the season, they’re a better team. Eventually, Poe needs to make an impact against the run. It looks and sounds like that time might be far off.

---Who’s the backup QB? It doesn’t appear that either Brady Quinn or Ricky Stanzi has stepped forward in their duel to be the top reserve to Matt Cassel. Based purely on how they’ve thrown the ball in camp, neither one has been particularly impressive. Other things, like classroom work, will factor into the Chiefs’ decision. But if this thing is a tie, or even very close, you have to go with the experience. So, unless Stanzi makes a big leap forward and leaves his competition in the dust, look for the Chiefs to go with Quinn.

It would be nice if there were actually a TC thread where the football and what is being seen and reported were available instead of the infestation of blabbering dumb****anese that is plaguing this board.

****ing LOL if Brady Quinn is our #2.

I will root hard for Cassel to get hurt in such an event, because Quinn will completely expose Pioli as a buffoon.

in the pursuit of happiness.

Due to that reason, I would enjoy a single source with actual reports and so forth. If you can handle that, that would be great.

Now, I'm late for an ass kicking 5hrs away.

What I'm getting from all these tweets and reports is that Cassel's mechanics are still questionable, nd he's still staring down receivers, but he is the most consistent passer in camp.

Stanzi's mechanics are superior to Cassel's, but his decision making is questionable.

And Brady Quinn is still the guy that made Donkey fans yearn for TeBow.

Ok, I'm no NFL expert talent evaluator, but I've been watching it for 35 years, so I sort of know what I'm looking at. I am not a big Cassel fan, but realize that last year was an abortion due in part to our dumbass head coach at the time. Nobody was going to succeed in that offense. I'm also someone that is hoping Stanzi is the man and we get to see him this year. Having said that , here are my observations from camp.
1. Cassel is head and shoulders above Stanzi and Quinn right now. In fact, he looks like a different QB from last year. His passes have zip and are very on point. He threw several perfect TD passes last night against our D.

2. Stanzi Is basically a rookie. Last year was so bad with our offensive coaches and lack of offseason, that I'm looking at him as a rook this year. He passes the eye test. He's big, strong armed, accurate. Right now, the game is simply too fast for him. He takes a bit too long in the pocket. Good news is, he does seem to have that clock in his head, and he will take off running or throw it away before he gets sacked. It'll be interesting to see him develop over the next year or so with the tools he has. I could see him being a starter in this league, but he could also be a carreer backup. Thing is, he simply isn't ready to lead this team right now.

3. Hillis is a beast. He tends to get an extra two yards after contact every time. I think we will have a lot less third and longs with him totin the rock.

4. Boss is the boss. He can run, he's big, he has hands. Two tight end sets with two backs are going to be a tough one for defenses to defend. They will either pound you or get one of the TE's or back open for a pass.

5. Cassel is trying to be a leader. He verbally bitched out Cyrus Gray when he was lined up wrong. I

6. Incidentally, Cyrus Gray and Shawn Droughns are locked in a pretty good battle. Both look really good

take it for what its worth

Yep. That's what I figured would be the case. Stanzi is more talented than Cassel, but I do think Cassel is the best QB out of the two (as sad as it is to admit).

Stanzi's accuracy has been shit according to several reports.

Sounds like more than decision making issues.

Right now, the game is simply too fast for him.
So Stanzi didn't practice at all last season? Interesting.
