I don't see that. I mean I was young when Riggins played but I seem to remember him being primarily a power back. I don't remember him hitting the outside a lot or catching the ball downfield but again, that was a long time ago and I could be totally wrong.

I'll be at work, so have it set to record, and will watch it Wednesday.

Yep.

Riggins made his living pounding the middle.

It's next week for sure.

I watched the game via the internet link provided in the thread. The feed was hazy and blurry but I think that expectations should be high going into this season. The Chiefs were well coached, well organized, didn't commit any "stupid" penalties and at the same time, relaxed and confident.

What stood out to me was the line play on both sides of the ball. Both first and second team lineman came to play and kicked ass. The second team opened plenty of holes protected the QB well. I'll be very interested to watch more closely on a large LCD TV with the option of pausing and rewinding.

All in all, this was the finest preseason performance I can recall in the past decade and maybe longer. This team is certainly DEEP in most positions and it showed throughout the game and into the 4th quarter. If this is the "beginning", the end should be bad ass.

It's waaaaaay too early but my initial take on Romeo and his staff (including the final three games of the 2011 season) is that it's the best since the early 90's. Which to me, is very exciting.

Seems to me the big difference between Haley and RAC is Haley wanted to treat everyone like they didn't know shit and he knew everything. RAC seems to be one of those types that's like "you're a ****ing pro football player and I am going to treat you like one. I'm not going to hold your hand or baby you or talk to you like a dumbass. You're going to play like a pro or I'll bench you. I'm not going to waste my time cussing at you.".

I was in high school in the late 70's and he was a threat all the way around. Yes a powerback for sure but he was a threat out in the flat, etc.....sometimes a fly rte right down the middle of the field with his exceptional speed 9.6 100yd dash in high school. Tells you how fast he was. That was the beauty of Riggins was that he was so deceptive in his added abilities that went along with his power back strength.

Riggins did have speed, but he didn't get to the edge the way an OJ Simpson or an Eric Dickerson did.

He hit the corners on the power sweeps.

And he wasn't a big receiving threat either.

I doubt he had 30 receptions in a season more than 2 or 3 times in his career.

The comparison of Hillis to Riggins is total ****ing dumbassary.

Dude, they are both big white RB's. Also, in case you didn't know Wylie = Welker.

Disagree. He was still effective regardless of numbers. The comparison as I stated prior using the term "cheap" because he is not as fast as Riggins or quite as strong but will be that change of pace back with power and some speed to boot.
