Chiefs Chiefs' Player Jevon Belcher involved in murder-suicide, shoots self at Arrowhead - Page 163

edit: Sources say the player is Jovan Belcher. Police have yet to confirm.

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

Sounds like some of the police statements corroborate some of the ideas that the anonymous "friend" of Belcher put forth in the emails to Deadspin.

This is going to become a roller coaster.

Could we possily go from "Pioli and Romeo are about to be fired" to "Pioli and Romeo are heroes for trying to talk him out of it" to "Pioli and Romeo tried to hide head injuries and drug/alcohol abuse" in the span of about 3 days?

I heard Keizman's monologue in the 2 hour and I thought he was speculating on what CHunt could be feeling. Saying he thought Pioli and Crennel's actions on Sat. am would make it hard to fire them. He did not give any indication he had intel. I think he is wrong. Especially after hearing Hughes say Crennel could retire over this.

Wonder what he has learned in the past three hours.

You are correct. His monologue was pure opinion - that he thought Clark would feel for these guys, making firing them difficult.

In the next hour, he started reading from the police report )or a story from someone that had the police report). That was the "intel" he had.
