Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

I couldn't resist the temptation any longer.
Glock G19 (Gen4) 9MM I almost bought it over the weekend, but decided to sleep on it. After two days to thinking, I decided I had to have it. Its my one and only pistol at the moment. It feels a lot better in my hand than the Gen3 G17 I had a few years ago. The grip doesn't seem as thick, and the texture is more "grippy." I'm really digging the flat dark earth frame. And I love that it came with three 15-round mags instead of two. That was enough to send me over the edge. I'm not 100% sure, but I think all of the Gen4's come with 3 mags. After my wallet recovers, I gotta build up a decent stash of 9mm. I've only got a few hundred rounds on hand. |

Congrats on your first pistol!
Love shooting 9mm. Looking forward to seeing you post more and more in this thread as the addiction slowly takes over your life. |

Thanks. Its not my first pistol, but the first one I've had in a few years. I can't wait to take it out for some fun once the weather warms up. I need to break it in, along with my new AK-74.

Sad, really. I suspect they are set up on some kind of automated system that sets prices based on inventory and sales volume. They have certainly, and probably permanently, damaged their reputation.

I know I have a couple thousand assorted rounds of .22LR, 9mm, .45 and 565. The next question is.... what the hell should I do with it all? Save it until I find someone who reloads? Invest in the equipment to reload myself? Decisions, decisions.... |

Ours has had 3 heart attacks and complete engine overhauls. A couple neighbors have had engine failures too. It all leads back to Kawi having a known problem with the air filter letting dirt into the engine. If you call and ask them, they deny it in a way you know they know what you're talking about. The area the filter meets up with the front of the air box is where most have narrowed the problem down too. There is an after market filter system, faster fan kit, and a more efficient water pump that is supposedly doing away with the issues and making the motors more reliable. Glad yours has been a good one! |

I used to say I didn't like glocks because they didn't have a safety but the reality is, it's not that much different from a 1911 grip safety etc. Build quality is pretty good and most importantly it's dog simple so it just works. I appreciate the design more enough that I'll get a G4 FDE once things settle down.

On a serious note - in this climate, whether you reload or not, hold onto your brass. Even if you don't reload now, you might start one day, or run into somebody who does who'll shoot you some ammo in exchange.
And especially hold onto .45 brass - reloaders gobble that shit up like it was made of gold. I assume .223 would fall into this category as well. My buddy and I are hoarding every shell we can find even though we don't have the dies to reload it yet. 9mm is much easier to find. |

So I sold my caddy and the guy was a hundred bucks short of my bottom dollar, he didn't know that though, we were at five hundred as far as he knew and he threw in a Smith and Wesson model 669, a brand new Marlin 22 semi auto rifle, a Marlin 30-30 lever, 1000 22lr, 250 9 mm, and a hundred 30-30 shells.
I think I came out alright Posted via Mobile Device |

Nobody in their right mind would mess with reloading .22LR would they? I can see the 9, 45 and 556 being something I should hold on to tho. |
