49ers GM will upgrade any position any time he can. Everybody competes to start every year. No favorites and nobody has a set job. Asomugha is a no risk $1.5 million rental/no guaranteed money to see how he works out in Fangio's system. Don't be surprised if he works out just fine in Fangio's system with the 49ers pass rush.

Boldin opposite Crabtree changes everything on offense.

The 49ers GM is snatching up Special Team gunners left and right. They screwed up last year dumping their 2 best special teamers -- Blake Costanzo and Colin Jones. They've signed 4 guys to replace them.

Akers is replaced by Phil Dawson as PK who was pretty automatic last year. Huge difference from 2012 when Akers was missing 30 yarders.

The 2013 49ers will be like the 2011 team that went 13-3 except with Boldin and Kaepernick from day 1.
