Live sim of 85 Bears vs 2019 Chiefs

This is fun! Mecole ran back the opening kickoff, Payton just scored from midfield.

One thing I was wondering about, is how the AI adjusted for the fact that great as those Bears were... they were almost all undersized compared to today’s guys, sans Fridge of course

Madden AI isn't at that level yet.

It does take weight into account on player collisions, i.e. tackles/hits.

Don’t recall if it was an instructional graphic on the game or something I’d seen online while investigating why I was sucking so hard there for a while... but it was something to the effect that if there are two teams miles apart in talent, it’ll somehow adjust to even things out a little bit

Which explains why I’ve been able to take the Jets and Dolphins into Foxboro and win, even when I’ve gutted talent from the team I’m using because I want the rosters to be true to life as possible

Like when the fins ditched Minkah, Drake and all those other guys, I ditched them too... which took them down to like a 77 team rating iirc, lol

But I still pulled it off somehow

There is a flip you can switch to turn this on and off.

That’s one of those matchups you’d love to actually see live.

The 85 Bears D was great against the offenses of that era... how would it fare against a wide open spread attack that throws the ball 65 percent of the time?

The LB were the best part of that D, and you’re taking one off the field basically 2/3 of the time.

If they stuck to the 46, it would be interesting to see how they handled the Chiefs’ passing attack.

How would we have done if we had a mini-Mahomes at quarterback. You know, maybe like 12 inches tall?

The Chiefs would shred that legendary Defense. No way could they handle the speed.

The fast guys like Willie Gault who was actually faster than Hill would still be fast today but that's it. The linemen too small, the defenders too small, too slow. No different than those 85 Bears vs those Lombardi 60's Packers, too big, too fast.

2019 Chiefs 42 85 Bears 17
