Fisher officially in at RT for Monday

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl...e36702456.html

Eric Fisher to start at right tackle for Chiefs on Monday vs. Packers
BY TEREZ A. PAYLOR
tpaylor@kcstar.com

Eric Fisher will return to the starting lineup Monday night at Green Bay, Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced Saturday.

Fisher, 24, has missed the Chiefs’ last five games as he recovers from a high ankle sprain. He will start at right tackle for Jah Reid, who has started the Chiefs’ first two regular-season games.

Fisher was expected to be ready to start at right tackle in the Chiefs’ season opener, but sources told The Star he opted out of the lineup because of concern over his high ankle sprain. Chiefs coach Andy Reid, however, maintained afterward he made the decision to sit Fisher because of the ankle injury.

Despite the injury, Fisher has logged three offensive snaps as a reserve at left tackle and 10 special-teams snaps as a blocker on the field-goal unit in the Chiefs’ first two games.

He has not played right tackle since his rookie year in 2013, but Reid said Fisher has “done well” in practice this week.

“I mean, he had played over there for the year, his first year,” Reid said. “He’s a pretty good athlete. Easy adjustment.”

Fisher is listed as probable on the injury report, along with fellow offensive lineman Jeff Allen, who has also missed the Chiefs’ last five games, including preseason, because of a MCL sprain in his knee.

“He had a better week this week, so he’s pretty close to 100 percent,” Reid said of Allen.

Allen, a full-time starter at left guard in 2013 who missed almost all of 2014 because of injury, opened training camp as the starter at right guard but was inserted as the starting right tackle in the Chiefs’ preseason opener against Arizona, where he injured his knee.

Why are people so invested in certain players being bad? It seems to get so personal.

Fisher was our best Olineman against the Packers ... period.

I don't know if he will continue to do so or will regress again but last night, for a single game, he was improved. Why does that piss you guys off so much?

I guess you didn't watch the game. Fair enough.

I wasn't sure. I focused on him early and he didn't look terrible, but for the most part, I was distracted by the garbage under center.

Matt Cassel made the Pro-Bowl. Did that mean he was a good QB?

Even if I had watched the game blind folded and agreed with you, clearly Fisher sucks. Clearly.

The team knows it, which is why all the PR around him is always how much he's improving. Or how much stronger he is.

He was not. Period. According to your grading Bible, Morse was. If what Fisher did was considered "good", I'd hate to see bad. Holy shit he blew as did the whole line most of the night. Trust your OWN eyes man.

As I was saying... anybody who is not a committed hater could see that.

We know the guard play is terrible because we don't have any NFL caliber guards.

After last night, we should be concerned about LT. I wonder if we might be asking to swap tackles in a few weeks.

It wasn't Fisher that was hot garbage on the right side, it was LDT.

Simply not true. One gif where he missed a block doesn't mean he had a terrible game. He didn't.

I understand. That happens to me a lot too. That interception was a thing of beauty.

Because this team keeps starting players who play bad.

Bad play leads to losses.

I DON'T LIKE LOSING.

Clark might not mind but I'm sick of it.

We know players like Cooper, Alex, and Fish aren't good enough. Period. They suck. People make mistakes - no GM is perfect.

Move on. Don't compound the mistake by refusing to admit it's a problem...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

One is a 6th round pick who is starting one year after playing in the Canadian league. The other is the 1st overall pick who has played like a shit going on 3 years now.

I agree with your gif statement. But he had more than just one bad play. He was terrible.

This. And I think with Fisher, the move to RT is part of that process. It's his last chance to stick and make some type of contribution.

Both were. LDT was worse though. That guy does not need to be starting. He's in way over his head.
