Chiefs sign OL Goff
The Chiefs agreed to contract terms today with veteran offensive lineman Mike Goff. Goff has some versatility and could wind up starting for the Chiefs at center or right guard.

The 33-year-old Goff played 11 NFL seasons, the first six with Cincinnati and the last five with San Diego. He has been a starter for the past nine seasons.

Yeah maybe I'm dreaming now that I ponder it a little.

I want to turn Goff into a pro bowl center and Curry into Lawrence Taylor!

I need another beer.

I agree. He's run stopper and can cover but most of all he's a playmaker. He also will be a pass rusher if we draft him. Since we don't have a ANY pass rushers our blitz packages will need to be creative.

Then again if Flowers and Carr mature enough to play man to man consistently we could have a chance at a linebacker making more than 2 sacks in 2009.

Curry might be able to get 2. That's what he average PER YEAR at WF.

Michael Lombardi made a very good comparrasson of H. Taylor to Derrick Deese who played OT during the steve young years. 6'3 300lbs, same size and skillset, more pollished as a pass blocker. I guess polished is the wrong word, just naturally a better pass pro guy. I think if you put too much weight on him you take that away.

Could he play one of the G spots? Depends on who plays C and the T on his side. Depends on how you balence out the OL. Right now we have Albert, Waters(maybe, maybe not) Rudy, Goff, and then i think Taylor is next up in terms of the next best OLman. Whether or not he gets that chance who knows but i do agree he is the best on roster prospect to join the lineup.

If not we have a very good backup LT/gameday swing tackle.

2 guards
1 center
1 right tackle

a #2 WR, a battering ram running back, two rush backers, a nose tackle, a d-end, a thumper at ILB, another corner, a safety.

I think we have two starting CBs. I don't know how much else we have beyond that. Leggett has promise, but he and Carr aren't surefire solutions either.
