I need a little tech help, please and thank you.

I'll start by confessing that I am, admittedly, not a computer geek, hence my post. With that said, here's my problems.

I'm still using the old Windows ME (don't say it, just keep reading). Normally, when I go into Explore, I can click on any picture I have saved on my drive and it opens in a new window. For some inexplicable reason, that has gone away and been replaced by "my problem."

For grins, I'm trying to open a picture of Trent Green right now. Instead of the pic opening in a new window, I get this:



I thought to myself, "Hey, just click open. That should work!"



It just repeats the warning window.

How do I get my setting back so it opens pics in a new window?

Rep, or some other worthless trinket, for whoever solves my problem.

Bitmaps open normally, as do .gif files.

what photo program you using?



might try opening a bitmap image and then dragging the .jpg image into the ALREADY opened photo program.

see if it's the program or the connection.

you can always see if installing that new program fixes the link ... then change it back to your old program(which is? )

You might try resetting your security settings to defaults. Internet Explorer, Tools menu, Security tab. Click all four zones one at a time and hit Default Level at the bottom.

that's all the internet settings ... i don't think that will effect the photo viewer.



try drag and drop into IE ...... i bet that works.



it's the link from the .jpg to IE that is screwed up imo

find the file and instead of double clicking to open ...... click once and hold down the button and you can drag the file into IE (have it open already)

but does the photo open up properly when you drag it.......


if so then you have isolated the problem to one section, biayatch.
